Through its partnership with Just Right Reader, NMPED is providing four rounds of personalized Take-Everywhere Literacy Packs™ throughout the school year, beginning in November. Each pack includes decodable books matched to students’ phonics skills to support reading practice at school and at home.
District leaders help ensure successful implementation by supporting principals and Literacy Champions, encouraging professional development participation, and ensuring materials reach students and families.
Just Right Reader uses student reading assessment data to match decodable books to the phonics skills each student is ready to practice, providing targeted support based on individual reading needs.
Ensure a Literacy Champion is designated at each school and student data is uploaded on schedule. Encourage participation in training, and support timely distribution of materials to teachers and families.
Just Right Reader provides monthly Literacy Champion trainings, quarterly Teacher Professional Development and Family Literacy Workshops, plus implementation resources and ongoing support.
