Sign up for Florida’s Step Up for Students Reading Scholarship Program: How the Reading Scholarship Accounts Work | Step Up For Students

You’ll need to upload a copy of your child’s English Language Arts (ELA) Assessment. You can get this from your student’s school.

If you have questions about the application process, contact Step Up for Students at 1-877-735-7837. 

Once your student’s application has been approved, please use the links from the Step Up for Students program email to: 
   a) Select Just Right Reader from the provider list.
   b) Authorize $500 in funding to be directed to the Just Right Reader.

When you’ve finished, please send a screenshot of your selection to florida@justrightreader.com. 

Just Right Reader’s after school program is virtual small group tutoring (or 1:1 tutoring) with award winning teachers. Your child will love to read and have so much fun! 

Students who are currently enrolled in a Florida public school in 3rd, 4th or 5th grade for the 2021-22 school year and scored a performance level of 1 or 2 on the English Language Arts (ELA) test in the 2020-21 school year are eligible to apply for the Reading Scholarship. Once their Reading Scholarship application is approved by Florida's Step Up for Students, the students are able to use the Reading Scholarship funds to participate in Just Right Reader's After School Reading Program. 

Eligible students receive $500 that can be spent on approved after school programs, approved tutoring, and/or approved educational technology. Funds are allocated on a first come, first served basis with priority for English Language Learners and students renewing their participation in the program.  

Yes! The Just Right Reader has been approved by Florida’s Step Up for Students Program to be an after school reading program provider. Parents should select Just Right Reader as their provider of choice and authorize the allocation of $500 to Just Right Reader. Funds will be paid to Just Right Reader by the Step Up for Students Program after your child completes the after school program.
